Teacher Teacher!

This is my Apple Pin. I made it back in 2009 in the Winter. It's a copper piece I made using chasing and repousse. I used a black patina but I wanted to keep some of the original copper sheen so I scotch bright finished it and rubbed part of it off. I am currently working towards being a teacher so I chose an apple for this particular project since we had to choose a fruit. they are also one of my favorite fruits especially red apples ^_^.

Rain Check

I was super busy last week and never had a chance to post and I didn't have time to do anything crazy since I was out of town. I went with this shade because well it's an awesome shade and appropriately enough named Rain Check (Wet N Wild). Unfortunatly it chipped pretty fast though so I am doing my nails tomorrow =).

Shooting Stars Ring

So here is my first posted metal piece of mine. This is the first ring I've ever made as well as it was made in my first metals class back in Fall of 2008. It's sterling silver with a black patina. I did a sand blasted finish but I've slowly over time started to not like it quite as much and am playing with the idea of making it a scotchbright finish. But considering it's my first ring and I made it in about two days I'm pretty proud of it =).

My First Marble

I couldn't resist three photos this week I absolutely love my first marble. The cleanup was INSANE!! I need to both use tape and chapstick next time I am such a messy marbler. I love the effect though. The glitter was hard to get a good shot of though because the sun kept reflecting off it.

Going Green??

My nails this week were completely random. I knew I loved the look of the white nails with color on them so I started out just going all white. (I'm still on the lookout for a really good white nail polish we've tried a couple so far the Sally Hansen has worked the best. ) Next after the white coat I always do a top coat so if I mess up the Konad I can just wipe it off and not have to redo my nails. This is the first time it's really come in handy since I tried a couple of colors and didn't like them. I finally settled on this plate and design in green. I had a really hard time w/it though!! It is a really hard plate to use to get the flowers to all pick up so it just got crazy.

What I do like about this effect though is from far away it looks like a sponge or splatter print and it reminds me of the canvas/cotton totes people use. A very "going green" or earthy feeling.

July 4th Nails

So for the 4th of July I wanted to do something fun with a little bit of everything. I picked the Konad Plate first and decided that they looked a like pinwheels with fun streamers and went from there. Originally I wasn't planning on putting on gems and I didn't have enough to be consistent with the colors but I love the way my thumbs turned out so I'm glad I did.

Nail Art - Sex in the City

I finally have pictures to post! So my mom, sister, and I went out for a girls night to go see the new Sex in the City!! I love their shoes! So these nails were in honor of the movie. My mom has a set of Julep Nail Polish in all the Sex in the City colors. The only catch is that my favorite art is Ceramics specifically throwing so my cuticles are trashed and my nails are stubby and still growing and this picture was before cleanup...Hopefully I will get better though as time goes and my nails will start to look better too!

I used the Samantha Julep Nail Polish with Silver Konad and Konad Plate M9.
